City hotel in the heart of Hengelo

City Hengelo is easy to reach by car and train. Ideal for a weekend away in the heart of Twente. Certainly if you really fancy a shop till you drop. In Hengelo itself there are surprisingly attractive and original shops, which are included in the special shopping walk route (highly recommended!). But there’s also perfect shopping in various cities just over the German border. You can cycle to your heart’s content in the Twente countryside. Pump up the tyres to cycle over undulating roads, through ancient forests, along meadows, fens and streams.

Poor cost to value ratio

Dated hotel with malfunctioning appliances in the rooms, poor ventilation during the summer (only electrical fan available), no in room climate control, normal climate control seems to be turned off or does not work at all, and worm dirty carpets. The breakfast is below average, and too small compared to the number of guests. Would only come again unless explicitly required to do so by the place I work at. I have received better value at other places for roughly the same costs. The only plus is its location, because it is next to the train station and near the city center. This would come in handy if you would not have access to a car.

Cooling not work

Please inform customers that the cooling only works if the weather is at a certain temperature so that the customer does not book a room and is surprised that the cooling is not working.

Good value for money

Simple hotel lose to centre, good value for money. Clean. Room was a bit warm, unable to change temperature, but still acceptable.
